霍剛的創作生涯，從早期的傳統奠基、台灣時期的現代藝術思潮激盪，到旅居義大利的跨文化融合。他的足跡與作品，是當代跨界藝術史中不可或缺的篇章。然而，因多次搬遷與時代局限，許多珍貴的創作作品與歷史片刻——包括早期的創作、手稿、展覽酷卡、活動海報、評論剪報，以及他與藝壇友人的生活側拍——均分散於世界各地。Ho Kan's creative career spans from his early traditional foundation and the wave of modern art movements during his Taiwan period, to his cross-cultural synthesis while living in Italy. His footprints and artworks form an indispensable chapter in contemporary transcultural art history. However, due to multiple relocations and the limitations of past eras, many precious creations and historical moments—including early works, manuscripts, exhibition coolcards, event posters, review clippings, and candid photographs of his life with fellow artists—remain scattered across the globe.
為了建立最完整、具學術研究價值的「霍剛數位檔案館」，我們正式啟動全球募集計畫。邀請全球收藏家、藝術評論家、昔日友人與愛好者共同參與這次跨國學術共創。不論是台灣的早期足跡、歐洲的黃金歲月，每一份未公開的資料，都是完整大師創作全貌的關鍵拼圖。To establish a comprehensive Ho Kan Digital Archive of profound academic and research value, we are officially launching a global call for submissions. We cordially invite collectors, art critics, old friends, and enthusiasts worldwide to join this transnational, collaborative academic initiative. Whether it is a trace of his early days in Taiwan or his golden years in Europe, every unpublished piece of documentation is a vital puzzle piece required to complete the grand vision of the master's lifelong creation.

作品收藏線索：藝術家任何時期的作品，提供作品照片、購藏背景或著錄資料，協助完善作品目錄。（藏家資訊可選擇完全保密）。Art Collection Clues: Artworks from any period of the artist's career. Please provide artwork photographs, acquisition backgrounds, or publication records to help perfect the catalogue raisonné. (Collector identities can remain strictly confidential upon request).
創作軌跡與手稿：各時期的創作、草圖、寫生簿、尚未公開的詩文、手寫信件、或對創作理念的隨筆。Creative Traces & Manuscripts: Works, sketches, sketchbooks, unpublished poems or writings, handwritten letters, or essays on creative philosophy from various periods.
展覽與活動文獻：世界各地（特別是歐洲藝廊）的展覽邀請函（酷卡）、海報、展覽現場照片、剪報與評論。Exhibition & Event Literature: Exhibition invitations (coolcards), posters, on-site exhibition photos, press clippings, and critical reviews from around the world (especially European galleries).
生活與時代側拍：藝術家在各地工作室、學院、藝文沙龍、或與各國藝術家交流的珍貴歷史影像。Life & Epoch Candid Photos: Precious historical images of the artist in various studios, academies, literary salons, or interacting with international artists.
1932 年出生於中國南京，華人幾何抽象藝術的先鋒，台灣知名現代藝術團體「東方畫會」的創始成員。1949 年來台並師從李仲生，1956 年與夏陽、蕭勤、李元佳、蕭明賢、歐陽文苑、陳道明、吳昊組成「東方畫會」，致力於推動「台灣現代藝術運動」，被譽為「八大響馬」。1964 年前往義大利米蘭，展開長達 50 年的旅居生涯，直至 2014 年返台定居。Born in Nanjing, China, in 1932, Ho Kan is a pioneer of Chinese geometric abstraction and a founding member of the Ton Fan Group, a renowned modern art group in Taiwan. He moved to Taiwan in 1949 to study modern art with Li Chun-Shan. In 1956, Ho, along with seven other painters (Hsia Yang, Hsiao Chin, Li Yuan-chia, Hsiao Ming-hsien, Wu Hao, Tommy Chen, and Ou Yang Wen-yuan), founded Ton Fan to promote the Taiwanese modern art movement, and they have been known as the “Eight Great Outlaws” ever since. In 1964, Ho moved to Milan, Italy, where he lived before returning to settle in Taiwan in 2014.
霍剛的創作早期傾向超現實主義風格，繪畫充滿神秘主義與奇異性，創作的形式也已開始著眼於幾何圖形的表現；定居於米蘭後，霍剛確立個人幾何抽象的創作風格，並專注於繪畫本質的探究，從繪畫的基本元素：點、線、面與色塊，進而發展到整體構圖的研究，從中發展其抽象表現。Ho's early style was mainly surrealist, rendering his early works rather mysterious and spectacular. However, he had already begun exploring geometric shapes in his work during this period. After moving to Milan, he established his individual use of abstract and geometric shapes, focusing on the essence of painting from basic elements: points, lines, planes, and color blocks. With these elements, he studied the overall composition to develop his unique abstract style.
作品受到硬邊抽象等西方藝術概念影響，融合東方書法、金石印刻等創作元素，以極簡且饒富詩意的視覺語言發展出個人獨有的東方幾何抽象。作品從「點」的元素出發，搭配斜出側插的短直線條，以其點、剔、撇、捺之效，構成獨特的詩意韻律與幽默童趣，並以「減法」運行，簡約中蘊含詩意，建構了一個更具「包容性」的抽象世界。Influenced by Western artistic concepts such as hard-edge abstraction, Ho Kan integrates Eastern calligraphy and the art of seal carving with a minimalist yet poetic visual language to develop his distinctive, Eastern lyrical abstraction. He starts with elemental points, and from them, he creates his philosophy about the arrangement of the image, validating the existence of each element. Ho Kan further applies the method of reduction to his abstract art, constructing a more encompassing abstract world that responds to the Eastern philosophical idea that all things are mutually embracing and complementing.
